1. Mang nghĩa "tiêu cực, xấu"
=harmful, or bad
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ:
- The ad campaign actually had a negative impact on sales.
- Keep off the negative thoughts. (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: Tránh xa những suy nghĩ tiêu cực)
- I have had many negative actions. (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: Tôi có nhiều hành động tiêu cực)
- I hope the divorce won’t have a negative effect on the children.
2. Mang nghĩa "phủ nhận, cự tuyệt, phản đối, từ chối"
=expressing disagreement or criticism / expressing opposition to something, especially when there is a choice

- a negative response
- to give a negative answer (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: trả lời từ chối, trả lời không)
- negative sentence (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: câu phủ định)
- a negative opinion of her qualifications
- His answer was negative.
3. Mang nghĩa "âm tính"
=showing that a particular condition, disease, or substance is not present

- Her pregnancy test was negative.
- She’s remained HIV negative for years.
- He tested negative for drugs and alcohol.
