      • While many families and religions honor and value their elders, America is one of the places around the world where seniors are not always given the respect they deserve.
      • Companies are also required to give workers time off to see their parents. Given the dense population and growing elderly population this makes sense, as families need to take care of
      • The Japanese culture values the elderly. Appreciation for elders has been ingrained in families and their children, making Japan one of the most kind places in the world for seniors.
      • Many Japanese families have several generations living under one roof. This arrangement is believed to be one of the many reasons the elderly in Japan live longer than any other population.

Younger generations cannot understand their history and background without the knowlegde of the people who came before them and actually lived through those events. Young people can learn about their cultural heritage from older people who may have a closer connection to traditional customs. Without this constant learning from older generations, many aspects of culture would be lost.
      • They have already gone through many of the same experiences young people will go through, and can give them advice based on their own experiences.

        • And, adolescents are especially sensitive to the social comparisons that result from seeing carefully curated, idealized bodies and lifestyles online.
        • social media made them feel judged or bad about themselves
        • more time spent in in-person interactions (along with sports, homework, religious activity, or print media) correlated with fewer mental health problems.
        • heavy social media use may be a sign for concern, not because it causes distress in the first place, but because it may be a symptom pointing to underlying distress.
        • More teens than adults feel stressed by societal issues like rising suicide rates, climate change, immigration separation and deportation issues, and sexual harassment and assault.
        • More teens than adults worry about work, money, and health alongside more age-relevant issues like bullying, peer conflict, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
        • Parents might be mindful of buffering their own stress from their teens.

          • Sports produce great joys as people overcome obstacles and strive for the level of excellence appropriate to them
          • women and girls are unable to compete with men and boys
          • It is difficult to make an apples-to-apples comparison between men’s and women’s sports.
          • It is true that sports played by men receive more attention from society than the same sports played by women
          • One main reason for this is that men are generally stronger and faster than women.
          • While this is not always true, most male sportsmen can compete at a higher level than women.
          • Due to the fact that more men watch sport than women, and men tend to watch male sports, these sports get more media attention which helps them to grow even more.
          • Although, it is true that some female sports are getting more popular, including golf and tennis, they are still far behind the male versions.

            • Music both expresses and arouses emotions in a way that words alone cannot.
            • In my opinion, traditional music should be valued over the international music that has become so popular.
            • International pop music is often catchy and fun, but it is essentially a commercial product that is marketed and sold by business people.
            • Traditional music, by contrast, expresses the culture, customs and history of a country.
            • Traditional styles connect us to the past and form part of our cultural identity.
            • It would be a real pity if pop music became so predominant that these national styles disappeared.

            • For me, I am interested in the traditional instrumental music, like pianos and guitars. It is an impressive combination that can give you a both nostalgic and modern feelings. Normally on rainy days, opening acoustics songs and sing along to my favorite Vũ hits, have a cuppa and let my hair down, music will do the rest.
            • Due to my total lack of rhythm and the fact that I am tone deaf, I would not even consider embarassing myself with any attempt to play a musical instrument.
            • Everything depends on the type of music I’m listening to. For example when you’re happy and listen to some happy music. It will boost your happiness. On the other hand if you’re sad, sad music might get you even more sad. But most of the time, listening to some music helps me pick up my energy and chill a bit.
            • My music taste varies widely from West to East and from the 90s to modern EDM. But if Korean pop is considered as a kind of music, then yeah, that’s my favorite of all time. More than half of my playlists are Korean songs and I always keep myself updated with the news related to Korean showbiz.
            • I guess most people at the same age as me grew up with Disney Channel and among its successful series, Hannah Montanah starring Miley Cyrus would always be on top of my list.
            • I like music, and I couldn’t live without it. It’s what allows us to escape from reality. Furthermore, it connects people. I think no matter what country, religion, or culture we come from, we all enjoy music.

                Should we protect animals?

8.1. Các ideas và từ vựng thường gặp trong đề này

                • Save endangered species
                • The health of an ecosystem is maintained by its plants and animals
                • When species become endangered, it is a sign of an ecosystem’s imbalance.
                • This balance is difficult to maintain: the loss of one species often triggers the loss of others. When grey wolves were hunted to near-extinction in Yellowstone National Park, beaver populations also decreased significantly.
                • The conservation of endangered species is important for humans as well.

                • A well-balanced ecosystem purifies the environment, giving us clean air to breathe, a healthy water system to support diverse marine life, and arable land for agricultural production.

                • It also provides us with unique plants with medicinal properties, which serve as the foundation of our medicines.
                • When ecosystems fail, our own health is at risk.
                • When saving endangered species, we are ultimately saving ourselves.
                • Although there are so many endangered species across the globe, there are also incredible efforts underway to save many of them.
                • Governments, nonprofits, international organisations, local communities, and individuals are working together to protect and restore population levels, and drive awareness campaigns to engage others in vital conservation work.
                • As an individual, you can make a difference by learning about and raising awareness about endangered species in your area, and across the world.
                • A sustainable way to do that is to get involved as a volunteer, partnering with governments and organisations on existing projects.
                • Not only is this a great way to learn about wildlife conservation, but you will gain hands-on, professional field experience, which can be difficult to obtain.
                • This is a valuable opportunity for those interested in scientific research and wildlife conservation, as well as those interested in international and community development, political science, and policy analysis.
                • Six of the seven species of sea turtles are listed as endangered or critically endangered. Sea turtles face multiple hazards that threaten their survival daily.
                • Pollution can cause fatal entanglement or ingestion. Uncontrolled coastal development along the shoreline limits their nesting grounds. Poaching activities target their eggs, as well as skin, shells and meat. These are just a few of the common threats sea turtles face.
                • Unlike their African counterparts, Asian elephants are dwindling in numbers. This is largely due to elephant labour in the tourism industry, and deforestation.
                • Once utilised in logging, military, and cultural celebrations, Asian elephants are now often used for the amusement of tourists, performing in circuses, and being made to beg on the streets. These activities are harmful to the elephants and their caretakers, known as mahouts.
                • Most people think that there is an abundance of wildlife species in the world, but the truth is, their numbers are dwindling and if nothing is done about it, these species might become endangered and extinct.
                • Thankfully, more and more preservation programs have been established to ensure that these animals are protected, bred, and well-taken care of.
                • These preservation programs motivate and increase the awareness of the public regarding the proper management of natural resources.
                • Wildlife conservation is the attempt to protect endangered animal and plant species, along with their natural habitat.
                • The main objective of this practice is to make sure that their habitats will be preserved so that the future generations of both wildlife and human can enjoy it.
                • Additionally, wildlife conservation aims to raise awareness regarding the importance of wildlife and wilderness.
                • The government also aims to implement certain policies that are specifically created to protect the animals.
                • It is essential to take actions to protect wildlife from extinction. By doing so, we do not only ensure their survival, but also the diversity of the ecosystem. As a result, it will help improve the ecological health of the earth.
                • Promote biodiversity
                • Biodiversity is essential for a healthy and functional ecosystem.
                • If wildlife is extracted from its natural habitat, the delicate balance of the ecosystem will be disturbed which will then lead to disastrous results. For instance, there is a wide diversity of species living in a tropical rain forest. If any species should become extinct, the food chain will be disrupted affecting all the species.
                • For instance, a lot of medicines have been derived from the chemicals produced by animals. These medicines are then used to help cure various health conditions, such as heart diseases, disorders, and other illnesses.
                • Wildlife protection is essential because if the animal is gone, it will be impossible to study and learn from them. Unfortunately, a lot of wildlife has disappeared from earth due to human activities, such as the Bali tiger, Mexican grizzly bear, and the Japanese wolf.
                • When we conserve and protect the natural habitat of wildlife species, we enrich our planet. To do so, we must keep the animals in their natural place. Conservation of natural habitats will also be beneficial for humans since it helps keep the essential watersheds intact and ensuring clean, fresh water.
                • Today, there are now wildlife preservation programs wherein they allow the animals to roam freely in their natural habitat. Some of these programs also allow the animals to interact with humans. This is beneficial since it educates the people and raises awareness regarding the importance of protecting these wildlife species.
