I. Cách dùng"renowned"
Mang nghĩa"có tiếng, nổi tiếng, lừng danh"
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ:
- The region is renowned for its natural beauty.
- Chinese Maotai liquor is world renowned. (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: Rượu Mai Đài của Trung Quốc nổi tiếng khắp thế giới)
- Renowned as an actress / for her acting (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: nổi danh là một nữ diễn viên/về lối diễn xuất)
- She was renowned for her acting. (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: Bà ấy nổi tiếng về lối diễn xuất của mình)
II. Cách dùng"renown"
Mang nghĩa"sự nổi tiếng"
=the state of being famous
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- Renown là danh từ không đếm được
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ:
- a man of great renown (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: người có tiếng tăm nổi như cồn)
- to win renown (as a singer) (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: có được danh tiếng (của một ca sĩ))
- a woman of great renown
- Her renown spread across the country.
- an artist of national renown
- A person of renown is well known, usually because they do or have done something good.
- She used to be a singer of some renown.
- Mailly's work achieved little renown.
