I. None được dùng như định lượng từ (QUANTIFIER)
Mang nghĩa"chẳng một ai, không người nào; không vật gì"
=None of something means not even a small amount of it. None of a group of people or things means not even one of them.

- When you use none of with an uncountable noun, the verb is in the singular - (sử dụng "none of" với một danh từ không đếm được, động từ sẽ ở dạng số ít)

- When you use none of with a plural noun or pronoun, or a singular noun referring to a group of people or things, you can use either a singular or a plural verb. The singular form is used in a formal style in British English - sử dụng "none of" với một danh từ số nhiều hoặc đại từ số nhiều, hoặc một danh từ số ít, có thể sử dụng cả động từ số ít hoặc số nhiều. Dạng số ít thường được sử dụng trong lối viết hình thức trong tiếng Anh Anh.

II. None được dùng như đại từ

=not one of a group of people or things; not any

- No one could imagine a great woman painter.

- None had existed yet.
- Only two cars produced by Austin-Morris could reach 100 mph and none could pass the 10-second acceleration test.
III. None được dùng như trạng từ (adv)
1. (dùng với the và một từ so sánh) không chút nào, tuyệt không

- He seems none the worse for the experience.
2. (dùng với too và tính từ hoặc phó từ) không... lắm
